Studying medicine is no small task and it’s far more practical than most degrees. This means you’ll be spending a lot of time on a primary care placement in one of Malta’s three hospitals. Learning from licensed physicians will help you gain a better understanding of the different specialities within medicine.
1 Queen Mary main medical campus (QM)
Situated beside Gozo General Hospital in the capital Victoria, the Queen Mary campus offers practical sessions in laboratories as well as the General Hospital. The campus is where students are situated for teaching weeks and assessments, but they will also study in Malta’s teaching hospitals.
2 Gozo General Hospital (GGH)
Right by Queen Mary, Malta Campus in the capital city of Victoria, this hospital provides the main health care services for the island of Gozo. It’s one of the larger hospitals in the Maltese Islands and offers a range of in- and out-patient services, as well as excellent medical care facilities.
3 Mater Dei Hospital (MDH)
This modern building in Triq Dun Karm houses a large general teaching hospital with a full range of hospital services. In collaboration with academic institutions, it provides a range of acute and specialist care and is actively engaged in research and innovation.
